CHAIRMAN'S MESSAGE Dear Member, Were on a countdown!! In 1959 the late Herminie Warner-Hill who was then the Chairperson of The Pekingese Club stated "The officers of The Pekingese Club can take pride in this, the first Year Book to be presented to the membership" and that sentiment of "officers pride in the Clubs Year Book" has not changed in any way forty seven (47) years on from this date. Undoubtedly the flag ship of the Pekingese Club is its Year Book; It has national and international acclaim, it is a directory and reference book for breeders, exhibitors, and breed fanciers, it contains useful information, and should be a "I must participate" for everyone involved in breeding and exhibiting Pekingese, but, in reality, what has the future in store for The Pekingese Club's coveted Year Book; Well the truth of the matter is, regrettably it will go into "extinction" unless supported by its Club Membership in advertising material, and for one reason or another I do believe, that more so than any other year in the club's Year book history, this year the "pro" Pekingese Club membership really do need to support the Clubs Year Book in advertising material in order to protect it, and safeguard its future. Along with Brenda Oades (Club Secretary) your overseas and Year Book Secretary Daphne Lee has prepared all the relevant documentation and forms for Year Book advertising which is enclosed, so please get your photographs organized, complete the relevant paper work, and return if all back to Daphne post haste giving her as much time as possible to style your advertisement making it as attractive and appealing to readers as possible. Breed fanciers and Club Membership World Wide really do want to see YOUR dogs, YOUR kennel name, and YOUR message, and these things coupled with Daphne 's flare of introducing something different and interesting into the Year Book will I'm sure make this coming Year Book the BEST ONE YET, and one that would have made the late Herminie Warner-Hill very proud indeed. With sincere thanks and gratitude Barry Offiler
